name: T'leric
sex: male
age: 29
faceclaim: Berthold Rothas
dragon name: Weth
dragon color: Straight up bleached blue.
dragon personality: Dry, often humorless, sarcastic. Is the opposite of the stigma saying that bleached and pied dragons are Cray Cray - is intelligent, perceptive, possibly more than most people, which makes him a little disdainful towards most people & most dragons. All the candidate-identifying perception of a Blue and then some. He's a bad influence on T'leric. Constantly making quips and insults that sometimes accidentally pop out of his rider's mouth. Disgruntled at the fact that the (what he sees as) overly temperamental and reactive bronzes & golds get to rule the Weyr, meanwhile he's relegated to the equivalent of picking up dry-cleaning. Wishes there was threadfall so he had something significant to do. Very bored. Drives T'leric to make bad choices. Holds grudges.
basic appearance:
-Very lanky, looks taller than he actually is because he has So Much Leg.
-Long, light colored hair. Sometimes it's braided back, especially if he's riding, because while it looks dramatic and cool, it flies up in his face a lot. Not well kept, always a little damaged at the edges, flyaways abound.
-Scruffy facial hair that mostly sticks to his chin.
-Prominent nose that is a lot more prominent when his hair is tied back and if he shaves it becomes beaklike.
-Has a 'tricksteresque' face that's always a little bit smiling, and kind of cunning, which gets him in trouble a lot and always has, even tho his default internal thought process is more like idling pipe music.
primary personality traits:
-Good dude. Chill dude.
-Very think-y, but never in a conventional or productive way. Has an artistic intelligence. Would have made a great Harper if he hadn't been so determined to go exploring.
-Tries His Best.
-Can never quite resistant the urge to make certain comments or do certain things - mostly dickish things to dickish people. Doesn't like bullies. Doesn't want to get into fights, but ends up roped into conflict fairly often, usually as peacekeeper, sometimes because he was too glib or too pacifistic. Just can't win.
relevant history: Born to a Harper family, who were determined to train him up Traditionally and keep their craft alive. Trained up to a certain age to be a journeyman Harper, and when he was sent to his designated Hold to begin his work, he instead fucked off and joined a crew of scavengers. Stayed barely one step ahead of Ravagers for a while, until he was picked up by a dragonrider trying to scale the wall of one of the abandoned Weyrs. He expected serious punishment, possible consumption by dragons, but instead was stuck on the Sands and Impressed Weth.
relevant views on current events: Anxiety. He's on the Weyr's side, but has sympathy for all sides. He has personal knowledge about diverse areas of Pernese life (the Holds, the scavengers, some of the ravagers, and now the dragonriders), unlike most other people, whose experiences are limited by Impression or place of birth. He sees things boiling to violence soon, and hopes for a fertile Queen to restore normalcy to the Weyr.
ambitions: Not much. He enjoys his simple life and simple duties, knows that riding a bleached dragon seriously limits his upward mobility at the Weyr. Aims to find quality candidates and treat them well, hoping to find the next Weyrwoman.
other: his catchphrase is 'shut up Weth'
