primary personality traits: Jovial, polite, genuinely nice to be around. H'lain is a very kind and considerate person to most people, or at least his people. He likes to have fun and, while entirely capable of being serious, generally doesn't go over the top. Takes things in stride. A thinker and a tactician by nature, prefers to consider every possible route before deciding on a course of action, which can make him seem very ponderous and sometimes infuriatingly slow to work with. However, this means he usually does choose the best way to go about things. Relishes in the work of being a Wingsecond, and enjoys helping to keep the Weyr in order. Has never taken any one partner and just casually partners with the riders of whichever dragons Suleth happens to fly and catch, be they male or female or neither, and probably doesn't really plan to settle down either. To his knowledge, has no children. His family are all those who fly in his wing.
relevant views on current events: The stress between the Holds and the Weyr bothers H'lain in the way that noisy children bother adults lounging around a pool: it just upsets the quiet life he'd like to have, and he's not above correcting it -- with varying degrees of sternness. His position of relative power makes him a formidable person to be around, and he knows it. Quietly, he worries about S'ris and his Weyrwoman, Hydaja, as the toll of this life begins to wear on them. But he isn't an anxious individual, and is confident that they'll pull through and make the world a better place.
